Getting Here

Getting to Bacton is easy from all parts of the country. The main roads into Norfolk are the A11 from the South and the A47 from the West and North. If you have arrived via the Harwich Ferry Port take the A120, A12 and A140.

Once you have reached Norwich travel to the Ring Road and follow the signs towards Norwich Airport and Cromer A140 remaining on the ring road heading along the A1042 heading for Gt. Yarmouth and Wroxham until you turn left at the roundabout on to the A1151 signposted to Wroxham.  Stay on the road where you will pass over the hump bridge in the Broads village of Wroxham and then pick up signs for Stalham. The road becomes the A149, just before Stalham you turn left along the B1159 signposted to Walcott and Bacton. Stay on this road passing along the coast at Walcott. Bacton starts just as the road turns slightly inland. The Poacher's Pocket pub is to your right. After passing the Abbey (to your left) and Bacton school (to your left) turn right (still on the B1159) signposted to Paston and Mundesley into Coast Road. You will pass the Fish & Chip shop (on the right) and the old Duke Pub (on the left). Look out for the signboard, the cottage is on your right. The entrance in is across the car park of the large white building. If you have passed the Chinese take-away you have gone too far!
